What will we see in heaven? Part III

Good morning, Zion’s Refuge church! We have been on a journey going through the book of revelations and discovering what we will see in heaven. There is waiting for us a beautiful place that was designed by the Trinity to be the eternal resting place of the Saints of God. We will be reading out the book of Revelation 21, please open your bibles to continue this journey through heaven. But heaven in all its glory will be the beginning of our wonderful future. Now that your bibles open, I will begin reading Revelation 21:1.
New Jerusalem
Revelation 21:1: And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2. And I John saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
For seven years the church lives in the third heaven far removed from the great tribulation on earth. The church follows Jesus to witness the “Battle of Armageddon” and the overthrow of the unholy trinity. The church will live a thousand years on earth to reign with Christ. Satan will re released from hell for a short time. Satan will deceive the hearts of the Tribulation Saint’s children, an attempt to overthrow Jesus. Fire will come down from heaven and destroy them. Satan will be cast alive into the Lake of Fire forever. Sinners will be judged at the “Great White Throne Judgement” to be cast into the “Lake of Fire” forever.
Sin is finally destroyed, no more evil, only the precious light of the “Lamb of God” forever and forever, Hallelujah! We are now entering into our eternal rest that was promised to all the saints of God. We will watch with amazement as heaven (New Jerusalem) comes down and connects to the earth. In our glorified bodies we will see that city decorated as a bride preparing for a marriage! We will be wearing robes of white awaiting our entrance into heaven!
Importance of Jerusalem:
Who chose Jerusalem, that his name may be there?)
II Chronicles 6:5-6: Since the day that I brought forth my people out of the land of Egypt I chose no city among all the tribes of Israel to build an house in, that my name might be there; neither did I chose I any man to be a ruler over my people Israel: 6. But I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.
Jerusalem was the very place that Jesus walked, preached, healed the sick and raised the dead. This was the very place chosen by God to allow His only Son to be crucified outside its gates. This is where the Romans seal His tomb and place guards so that he would not rise from the grave. He arose out of the grave on the third day. Live on this earth for 40 days. This was the place where He went up to God in the clouds to heaven. This was the same place he will come down from heaven and set His feet on the Mount of Olives. Jerusalem will be Jesus’ capital city where he will rule for 1,000 years. This is the same place where heaven (New Jerusalem) will come down from God out of heaven and we shall ever live with Jesus, Hallelujah!! God himself chose Jerusalem to be His eternal city, where His name would be there, forever! What will we see in this “New Jerusalem”. Oh, what sites you will see:
The City of God, “Heaven”
Revelation 21:10; And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God. It's hard to imagine, that that beautiful new Jerusalem will be built on a great high mountain. It will be the largest plateau ever known to man, with a footprint of 1500 miles square.
Heaven’s Foundation:
How many foundations does heaven have?)
Revelation 21:9-27 Describes this city of wonder the best way he can as the Holy, “New Jerusalem”. When that city descends out of heavens it will fill the skies with splendor. New Jerusalem coming down will be the great wonder of all time, this is the holy and eternal chosen city of God “New Jerusalem”. It will have twelve different foundations to support this city. There will twelve layers of precious stones. (1. Jasper, 2. Sapphire, 3. Chalcedony, {kal she duh nee} 4. Emerald, 5. Sardonx {sar don ix}, 6. Sardius, 7. Chrysolyte {cry so lite}, 8. Beryl, 9. Topaz, 10. Chrysoprasus {cry so pray sus}, 11. Jacinth {ja sinth}, 12. Amethyst).
The dimensions and shape of Heaven:
What is the shape of Heaven?)
The dimensions of this city is unbelievable 1,500 miles width, 1,500 miles length, 1,500 miles height it is the shape of a cube. (2,250,000 square miles, cubic capacity of heaven 3,375,000,000 cubic miles and that is only New Jerusalem). The walls are 200 feet thick and made of Jasper (clear as a crystal, like unto a diamond). The streets are made of pure transparent gold. Twelve gates of pearl, three on each side, north, south, east and west, they will never be closed.
The Lamb is the light of heaven:
Who will light heaven and all the world?)
Revelation 21:23-24: And the city hath no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the lamb is the light thereof. 24. And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honor into it. You will walk in the light of Christ and never be surrounded with darkness. Throughout eternity the Lamb of God and God himself shall light up all of the existing world. John 8:12, Then Jesus spoke unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
The River of Life:
Revelation 22:1: And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the lamb. Can you imagine a river that has never been littered, No trash of any sort, no pollution. But a crystal clear river made by God himself.
The Tree of Life:

Revelation 22:2: In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bear 12 manners of fruits, and yield her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. When the author John says tree of life, he is talking about a particular type a tree. But it is explained there will be many trees of life that will line both sides other river of life. After Adam and Eve took of the forbidden tree of knowledge of good and evil, he banned them from eating of the tree of life or they would be with us today. I believe the tree was removed from the garden Eden and place back in heaven away from humankind. In heaven we have glorified bodies like Christ and we will live and reign with him forever.
Jesus:
Why do you want to see Jesus?)
Revelation 22:3-6: and there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the lamb shall be in it; and his servant shall serve him: 4. And they shall see his face his name shall be in their foreheads. 5. And there shall be no night there and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign forever and ever.
6. And he said unto me, these sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his Angel to show unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.
“What a day that will be, when my Jesus I shall see. When I look upon his face, the one who saved me by his grace. What a day, what a glorious day that will be!”
The writer of this song had wonderful things to say about the day that we get to heaven and see Jesus. I know the streets of gold, walls of Jasper, beautiful precious 12 foundation stones and the gates of Pearl will be glorious to behold. But all of this will not compare to the beauty of the son of God who gave his life for all. “What a day, that will be”
I personally struggle with words trying to describe Jesus in his glory, His Majesty and the almighty son of God. Watch and listen to this video “My King”, It may bring clarity to who our Jesus is.
